You Don't Know
Summer of 2002 - Everybody knows or has seen someone described here, maybe you are them, but just a little too good for yourself to even know.
I've found the end and I hit the wall
But you don't know, cause you don't fall
Always on your feet
The one everybody wants to be
But I see you wanna scream
You run to lock your door
Cause you can't take anymore
You follow everyone around
Like there's nothing in this town
That you don't know
I feel strong but it don't take long
To see that I'm weak, down on my knees
But you don't know, no not at all
Cause you can't see me
When I'm not on your TV screen
Just when you think it's over
You'll see a shooting rainbow
If you will wait and see
It will come eventually
Not like the movie screens
Come on, this is reality
You run to lock your door
Cause you can't take anymore
You follow everyone around
Like there's nothing in this town
Yeah, you run to lock your world
Cause you can't take anymore
You've followed everyone around
With something still not found
Cause you don't know

Something Isn't Right
June 16th, 2001 - When a person is one second this and the next that, it’s hard to create a friendship with them. For they are only living in a make believe world where they’re someone else.
Something tells me by the way you're acting
You've done this once before
You should see this like I hear it
Cause your actions don't match your words
You play it to be dumb
More than anyone
I tried to be your friend last night
You doubt and try to leave everything out
I know that something isn't right
Nothing ever comes from nothing
At least from what I've seen
You can go on pretend to be someone
I'll keep playing me
Re-write and compromise
Right through your whole life
I tried to be your friend last night
You doubt and try to leave everything out
I know that something isn't right
You fell down on the rooftop of an emotional high
Now all you hear is singing on the radio late at night
But something isn't right
You've felt it all night
You say no one cares
But I was there

Finding Ourselves
Oct. 2001 - Aug. 2002 - It took me a good year to complete this lyric, but what I found is that you can never truly find yourself until you completely lose yourself.
I look in the mirror to see what I've become
Am I blind or is this really me
A face I've never seen
You feel as though the same, but to quiet to say "Hey, that's me"
Looking for answers in this life
Cause soon we all die, but for the night
Yeah, we're finding ourselves somewhere beneath the stars
And with all we try we wanna know, who we are
Not to become, someone else
We're finding ourselves
From all I've heard I'm not good enough, for me
Or anyone that's ever tried to be
Cause we're all so weak, can't you see?
That we're finding ourselves somewhere beneath the stars
And with all we try we wanna know, who we are
Not to become, someone else
We're finding...that
Hiding in spaces are bringing us down
Smiling in places are bringing us round
We're finding ourselves somewhere beneath the stars
And with all we try we wanna know, who we are
Cause we're finding ourselves
Yeah, we're somewhere beneath these stars
And with all we try we wanna know, who we are
Hiding in spaces, finding ourselves
Smiling in places, finding ourselves

Moving On
December 18 & 20th, 2002 - This song deals with what I think are two of the hardest things to deal with, saying goodbye and admitting that you were wrong or failed. Both of which we all have to go through at some point in time, but like they say, with the right tool anything can be fixed...Kristen this is for you.
Four years past you by
In the blink of an eye
Things still don't feel right
With the memories still in your mind
Sometimes it's alright to say goodbye, try
Moving on, and I pray it don't take long
And if I see you again, I hope you find you belong
Moving on
Four years past tonight
Do you think you'll see the Light
That will lead you to the day
With brighter skys and different rays
Sometimes it's alright to say goodnight, try
Moving on, and I pray it don't take long
And if I see you again, I hope you find you belong
Moving on
Your hearts been cracked
But there's no time for looking back
It will mend in time
And it will be fine, if you try
Moving on, and I pray it don't take long
And if I see you again, I hope you find you belong
Moving on, and I pray it don't take long
And if I see you again, I hope you find you belong
Moving on, and I pray it don't take long
Cause you belong
And it's not wrong
Moving on

Just a Boy
October of 2002 - Some things are easier said then done, this song being no exception. For this is a summary of about two thousand miles on the road, if not more, by myself in pursuit of a dream.
New York got my call
My name and numbers on each wall
In that town where every block looks the same
I'm moving on, for something better today
LA sounds so great
Where the people and weather never change
So I took my chance in hand for the cause
To never put my life on pause
I'm just a boy looking for my home
Trying to live wherever on my own
Torn in two, falling here and there
I'm just a boy running anywhere
I'm just a boy looking everywhere
Past the hills and painted lights
Thrown webs have blinded my sight
But now I see you're trying to hide
That we're all just the boy if you'd look inside
I'm just a boy looking for my home
Trying to live wherever on my own
Torn in two, falling here and there
I'm just a boy running anywhere
I'm just a boy looking everywhere
With my feet off the ground
Wondering if I'll ever be found
Now I know what I've always seen
You're more like me then you'd ever believe
I'm just a boy looking for my home
Trying to live wherever on my own
Torn in two, falling here and there
I'm just a boy running anywhere
I'm just a boy headed somewhere
I'm just a boy searching out there
I'm just a boy looking everywhere

Six & 1/2 the Other
March 14th, 2002 4:27am - The online world of IM's brought about this after a conversation with a friend. We were both left not knowing what the other was saying, if it wasn't one thing it was another, thus the title.
You say that you really don't swear
But what you don't know is that I don't care
So tell me how did we get to this place
Where I can't see the look on your face
I don't know why so please stand by
Or let me lie but I can't deny
That I'm confused over you
It's getting late and I can't communicate like this
Or comprehend what we're saying to one another
Cause it's always six and one half the other
Some might say I've gotten lost in your eyes
But what they don't know is that I'm lost in your mind
Tell me where did this all come from
I'm missing it and feeling sorta dumb
I don't know why so please stand by
Or let me lie but I can't deny
That I'm confused over you
It's getting late and I can't communicate like this
Or comprehend what we're saying to one another
Cause it's always six and one half the other
Do you have no clue
Or is it out of the blue
That I'd be writing you
It is true, that I'm writing you
Would have thought by now
We could have figurred this out
Please tell me how and I'll try it out
Before you pout, I doubt
That I'm confused over you
It's getting late and I can't communicate like this
Or comprehend what we're saying to one another
Cause it's always six and one half the other

Tired
August of 2000 - The summer of 2000 proved to be an amazing one, a majority of it left only questions with no answers, so here I am stuck with my rebuttal.
Is it pain, or that side of your face I keep seeing
Is it rain, I feel so many drops falling on me
Where is it I should go
I think but only You know
I'm tired of the TV and lights on Hollywood
Always playing the same shows but never knowing how they go
I say, where is our time I thought we had
Did I fall down, maybe it's just me?
I'm tired, time for me to go to sleep
Is that you, I feel a little more inspired everytime I see you
Is this me, I think I hear the walls they're falling on me
I'm tired of the TV and lights on Hollywood
Always playing the same shows but never knowing how they go
I say, where is our time I thought we had
Did I fall down, maybe it's just me?
I'm tired, time for me to go to sleep
I'm tired of the shows
I'm tired of the lows
I'm tired of the road
I'm tired of the go

Getting There
finished April of 2002 - This lyric was given to me to see what I could come up with for music, on the first read through it I had no ideas but once I placed myself into the lyric everything just fell in place.
There are days I feed this fever
Like a dead man on my bed
'til I can't divine the truth that I was seeking from the questions in my head
And there are days when grace compels me
To uncover my disease
There are moments when the spirit breaks my will and I surrender
I surrender by degrees
It's all about getting there
It's all about the climb
It's all about the things we choose to keep and the things we leave behind
It's all wrapped up in wonder
It's all a simple prayer
It's all about learning to live with our hunger
It's all about getting there
There are places I've been falling
There are ways that I've been weak
There are moments when I hear redemption calling but I'm too far down to speak
There are shining fires of mercy
That consume what I've become
There is love that comes to cast away the fear of the things I'm running
I'm running from
It's all about getting there
It's all about belief
It's all about fine lines and land mines and crawling on your knees
It's all wrapped up in wonder
It's all a simple prayer
It's all about learning to follow our hunger
It's all about getting there
BRIDGE
It's all about getting there
It's all about a dream
It's all about false starts and heart aches and bursting at the seams
It's all wrapped up in wonder
It's all a simple prayer
It's all about learning to trust
It's all about getting there
It's all a simple prayer
It's all about learning to trust with our hunger
It's all about getting there

Come May
October 28th, 2001 - So why May? I promised my friend Josh I would be his best man and May was the wedding month. At that same time I was thinking about moving down to Nashville possibly, but as I took a look around, I saw and still do see that a lot of people never really follow their dreams or their heart and end up settling for second best, so I suppose my "words of wisdom" would be...you'll never know until you try...follow your heart, no dream is to big.
Woke up with this feeling yesterday
That I have no reasons left to stay
I'd be better off gone
Then sit here too long
With my suitcase packed
Down a one way track
I wanna see the world
Like a bird I wanna soar
To and from with no strings
Or hidden lies that make me scream
Before you ask me to stay
I swear I'll come back home, come May
Picked up the Daily News & Morning Star
Nothing's here, I find no part
Everyone seems the same
Forgotten dreams hide their face
With their suitcases packed
Down a one way track
I wanna see the world
Like a bird I wanna soar
To and from with no strings
Or hidden lies that make me scream
Before you ask me to stay
I swear I'll come back home, come May
Have you seen what you wanted to see?
Or ended up where you expected to be?
One more thing before you stay
Where will you find yourself come May?
With a suitcase packed?
Down a one way track?
I wanna see the world
Like a bird I wanna soar
To and from with no strings
Or hidden lies that make me scream
Before you ask me to stay
I swear I'll come back home, come May
I wonder where you are
I bet I'd find you wishing on a star
I hope you find your place
I'd like to hear that someone knows your name

Don't Go
June 21st, 2001 - One night I wasn't able to get to sleep because two friends were on my mind. One of them was trying to run from a problem and the other was running back to a problem, so I stayed up till the wee hours of the morning to write down exactly what I wanted to say, things fell in place and here you have this recording which I was able to send to them...the summer of 2001 will remind me of them.
It's time to try for today
I'll try to say what I want to say
I see you running with your head cut off
Like you'd been left unloved
Hey, don't go
I want to see you so
Hey, hold on
Cause you're heading back to the place you came from
Sometimes it takes so long to see
A little piece of this mystery
And when you do, you'll see why
Everything will be back to life...again
Hey, don't go
I want to see you so
Hey, hold on
Cause you're heading back to the place you came from
I don't believe you when you say
That everything good has run away
So hold on to the one who's taken you this far
He won't ever break your heart
There's nothing deep or profound
To this lyric or in this sound
Just hear me when I say
That everything will be ok
Hey, don't go
I want to see you so
Hey, hold on
Cause you're heading back to the place you came from
Now you're running and moving along
And no one else can sing this song
But you, cause it's yours
And I don't know if you'll leave or if you'll stay
But I hope to see you back one day
I'd hate to see you leave
I'd hate to see you go
Oh please stay and please don't go

Sara's Song
May 1999 - Stuck on herself and trying to fit in, she created an alias. So far from home, only trying to find love, this is her song...
Oh, can you see me
I'm over here waiting for you
To come and be where you used to be
How could you believe in things you've never seen
Your eyes are blind by what you hold inside
Sara...
I long to see you smile
Hold on...
Just stay with me awhile
Somewhere...
You'll see behind my eyes and know this love won't die
Oh, don't you know me anymore
You seem so cold so far away from here
But you don't know where to call your home
You fight to try and save your life
Try to hold to something you can't find
Sara...
I long to see you smile
Hold on...
Just stay with me awhile
Somewhere...
You'll see behind my eyes and know this love won't die

There's Something More
June 14th, 2002 5 am - If I could play one song of mine for the entire world to hear, this would be it. Jade this is for you, spurred from the conversation we had...seek and you will find.
Look outside before your eyes
Take the time and realize
That there's something more
Sit back, hold tight, enjoy your ride
Soon you'll find that I was right
That there's something more
I tried all night
To tell you I know what you're searching for
Cause Jesus died to save your life
Know there's something more
He's what you're looking for
There's more to us then turning dust
These hills and plains, they all explain
That there's something more
I tried all night
To tell you I know what you're searching for
Cause Jesus died to save your life
Know there's something more
He's what you're looking for
I tried all night
To tell you I know what you're searching for
You think you know
But what you've been told is sadly so wrong
Cause Jesus died to save your life
Know there's something more
He's what you're looking for
He'll wipe away your hidden pain
You'll never ever be the same
When you believe you'll see there's something more
